Jogging my Memory

Jogger: Diversity. Toronto is a lot more diverse than Vancouver but because of that the number of Chinese people I see around the city dwindles down.  Coming from a city that has 30% Chinese people, not seeing them around is quite an experience!  

Memory: China is an extremely large and diverse place.  From travelling from the South of China, through the Middle and up to the NorthEast, we were able to see and meet many different Chinese people.  Some were more educated and rich while others still depended on hard labour to get a meal.  The diversity in just China is something to ponder over.  

In Song Pan, there are people from Sichuan looking to capitalize on tourists and then the local minorities who have lived there all their lives (and probably mainly capitalizing on the service industry now).  Most of these people don’t have the opportunity to immigrate outside of China so I’ve never seen them before but the colours! the outfits! It was very interesting to see the traditionally dressed women with their darker skill and light eyes. Their most distinctive feature is their eye-colour in my opinion- the caramel colour is very beautiful!
